Although we live in a suburban area, we get a lot of wildlife wandering through our neighborhood. You may have already seen the other critters in my other blog posts. What's that? You haven't? You should definitely check them out.
Here is a short video of a few of our animal friends exploring the property next to ours:
One day when I wandering around the back of our property, I noticed this on a tree in the neighbor's back yard:
That is a Trail Cam, which is a motion-activated camera that captures photos of wild game. Usually they are used by hunters to capture behavior of animals so they know their routines and whereabouts. Our neighbor apparently mounted this to his tree to grab some images of our deer friends.
I was curious to see what he was getting for photos, so I opened it up and pulled the memory card out and downloaded the images on to my computer. There was about what you would expect: Deer, the odd cat wandering through, even the neighbor mowing his lawn.
Then I had a revelation: If I could take images off the memory card, I could drop images onto the memory card.
Let. The fun. Begin.
The first photo I dropped in was certain to get his attention:
We aren't really known for having bears in the area, but it wasn't beyond possibility.
Not wanting to be too eager, I waited to drop more images on the memory card. Weeks went by, more generic images were captured.
Then I slipped this onto the memory card:
Wait, what? Is that a Sasquatcheses?
On a side note, have you ever noticed that plenty of people seen a sasquatch, but nobody saw a sasquatch? Food for thought.
As weeks went by, I soldiered on. Here are the images I sporadically placed on the memory card:
This photo was a foreshadowing of images to come:
The final image:
After this image, the camera disappeared as quickly as it appeared.
Huh. Wonder why.
Since this little project I've met the neighbor a few times. He's a really nice guy, and he has never brought up the trail cam, and I'm sure as hell not going to.
