Porsche is a Two Syllable Word; pôrSH(ə)

Ah yes, the age old debate. How to correctly pronounce "Porsche".


If you had been at The Davenport Grand Hotel during the Porsche convention, you could have gotten the answer straight from a German's mouth: It's two syllables.


On a related note, let's talk about The Davenport Grand Hotel for a moment.


When Walt Worthy announced the ambitious project of a 716 room hotel that would occupy an entire block of downtown real estate, there were naysayers. Lots of them. They maintained that Spokane could never support such a business.


Let's just say they were wrong. Time and time again, huge national (and international) groups have converged at The Grand Hotel in little ol' Spokane. Not only that, but they leave having been impressed by both the hotel and the city. If they come once, they almost invariably plan on returning.


Here is a short video I shot of the Porsche (two syllables, remember?) convention. The best part was seeing hundreds of Porsches filling the parking garage, everything from meticulously restored classics to modern-day high performance supercars.
